Oglethorpe University is currently seeking a Gift Processing & Stewardship Coordinator. This position is responsible for the accurate and efficient recording of all gifts made to Oglethorpe University as well as ensuring proper stewardship of those gifts. The Gift Processing and Stewardship Coordinator reports to the Director of Development Services. Duties and Responsibilities: •Manage processing of all donations by assigning appropriate donor and gift codes, preparing batches for data entry, and completing appropriate gift receipt forms/letters. Gift types include cash, in-kind, credit cards, payroll deductions, electronic fund transfer, online donations, securities and real property. •Prepare all acknowledgment receipt letters and distribute to appropriate staff members for signature. •Process all matching gift forms. Proactive in tracking outstanding matching gifts, as well as staying current with regard to ongoing updates as pertain to the matching gift program. •Serve as the primary development report expert. Prepare and distribute Annual Fund Giving Reports daily, bi-weekly and as requested. Also prepares giving reports for other areas of giving as requested. •Coordinate the production and mailing of pledge reminders. •In conjunction with other staff, responsible for maintenance and integrity of development database, including name, address and other biographical, educational and prospect information. •Train and supervise work study students as pertains to the database or other development procedures. •Coordinate and carry out all aspects of student scholarship thank-you process. •Working with supervisor, develop a written procedures manual as pertains to the Gifts Processing and Stewardship Coordinator position. •Work in conjunction with supervisor and with the Director of the Annual Fund to plan, coordinate and execute all mailings and other solicitations. •Work with the business office to: reconcile donations to the university, maintain accurate records for General Ledger accounts in Datatel, and assist with yearly audit. •Maintain timeliness, efficiency and accuracy to appropriate levels (as defined by supervisor) with regard to gift entry, acknowledgement letter generation, and database updates. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; 1-3 years of fundraising experience. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be customer service oriented, with a strong attention to detail and have the ability to multi-task; must be comfortable working with the Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Datatel’s Colleague Advancement database software and Entrinsik’s Informer report writing software are encouraged; must be willing to work some evenings and weekends to support Development Events. Georgia State University- Development Research Specialist
Job Summary/Basic Function
The role of the development researcher is to identify and profile individual, coporate, and foundation donors, and researchers prospects for major gifts, endowed gifts, special project funding, and annual/sustaining support.
POSITION SUMMARY: Development Research Specialist performs the following responsibilities: Regularly collaborate with development staff to develop prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and overall fundraising strategies. Consult with development staff to determine feasibility of research requests and special projects. Advise development staff about new prospect possibilities as appropriate or requested. Use both standard and novel prospect research techniques and tools to identify new prospects and complete donor background requests, including periodical and electronic screening and/or information provided by the prospect or his/her organization. Review local and national news and business publications, keeping abreast of prospect information and local and regional business developments and economic trends. Send articles to development staff as appropriate. Maintain and develop professional relationships with local prospect researchers, as well as national and local associations. Utilize central Development database (Raiser's Edge) to track/store profile data. Safeguard the confidentiality of donor information at all times. Adhere to ethical and confidentiality guidelines. Maintain the professional and ethical standards set forth for the field by the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA). Perform other responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one year experience; or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 2 years or more years of direct prospect research experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail in preparing materials, presentations, and reports. Strong analytical abilities and competence in synthesizing and compiling large amounts of biographical and financial information from diverse sources (including IRS filings by foundations and corporations, and stock holdings details) into thorough, accurate and well-organized profiles and research reports. Comprehensive knowledge and use of computer equipment and software applications, as well as databases and resources relating to prospect giving campaigns. Experience in university advancement/development operations. Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and work well under pressure. Positive and courteous behavior including a high level of customer service for internal and external clients. Knowledge of the Blackbaud Raiser's Edge software system is preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY: Working closely with development staff to identify prospective donors, conducts accurate and complete confidential research reports (biographical, financial, and philanthropic information, etc.), and creates profiles on institutions and individual major gift and/or planned giving prospects. This position supports the development staff's identification and qualification efforts and consults with staff to develop cultivation and solicitation strategies on prospective donors. Position reports to the Director of Development. NATURE AND SCOPE: The office of Development raises funds for Georgia Gwinnett College primarily from individuals, foundation and corporate grants, and special events. The Assistant Director of Prospect Research will work in an exciting, fast-paced, and challenging environment that often involves juggling and coordinating a variety of projects and requests. Knowledge, Skills, Ability * Strong written and oral communication skills necessary to seek, obtain, and present information required for preparing successful proposals and reports. * Ability to plan and implement a programmatic approach to prospect research including setting realistic goals and orchestrating the involvement of staff and volunteers. * Specific knowledge and understanding of basic research techniques, including online research sources; experience with Lexis-Nexis, Dun & Bradstreet, and related electronic databases helpful. Excellent research and computer skills are required. * Excellent conceptual skills, sense of logical relationships, and a demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of complex data efficiently and effectively. * Strong customer service mindset and the ability to manage multiple conflicting deadlines and maintain disciplined adherence to program goals. * Ability to work independently, handle multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain positive relationships with colleagues. * Ability to organize workflow. * General knowledge of office management techniques. * Ability and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary. * Maturity, poise, initiative, and flexibility to handle complex situations and sensitivity to handle confidential information with professionalism. * Highest standards of confidentiality and discretion essential. * Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, plus a minimum of three years directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Candidate must have at least two years of professional research experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree Demonstrated experience as prospect researcher, paralegal, librarian, and/or researcher preferred. Understanding of fundraising and the role of prospect information helpful. General knowledge of philosophical and practical bases of advancement research methods preferred.
